Luxury Costa Rica Vacation on Points
We spent a full week at luxury resorts in Costa Rica for $0. I have been deep in the points and miles game for years now, but this trip was a true testament to how far points and miles can really go.

2025 Points Earned
In 2025 I earned a total of 1,207,000 points. Many people would assume that to earn that many points, I must have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars. But I assure you, I spent no where near that kind of money. I don't have that kind of money. And I am definitely not taking on any consumer debt.

2025 Points Funded Trips
I am absolutely blown away by what I was able to do in 2025 with points earned from credit cards. In total, I spent 27 nights in hotels, all either completely free or very deeply discounted. This is a task manager app. It’s simple, but it keeps me organized and the mental load lighter.
Chicken Melts
These are microwavable chicken patties with cheese in a half pita. Are they Michelin Star? Absolutely not, but my kids eat them all the time and I send them for school lunch at least 2x a week. Get them at Costco for a discount.
Reading.com
This is a paid reading app that I found to be very good. It requires a parent to sit with the child and comes at a price tag of about $60 for the year. But after trying many reading programs, I really liked this one.
Rakuten
Rakuten is a shopping portal - which is a gateway to online shopping platforms that earns points or cash back. There are lots of shopping portals, and everyone should use one, but Rakuten is my favorite.
